This panel explores how talented artists carve out their own paths from within a DIY ecosystem. We will discuss their approaches and the networks that helped them, as well as the experience of suddenly finding oneself increasingly interacting with a system one might not fully agree with. What advantages can the music industry - or specific sectors of it - offer, and how can all of this be reconciled with a band's core values? And not to be overlooked: what role does a band’s place of origin play? Is there an advantage to coming from a city like Nuremberg rather than Berlin or Hamburg?
