Frieder Nagel: Nbg Pop Livevideo
Der aus Nürnberg stammende Künstler Frieder Nagel bewegt sich stilistisch betrachtet in der Schnittmenge zwischen Neo Klassik und elektronischen Einflüssen. Sein Auftritt beim Nürnberg Pop Festival wurde vom Kollektiv æzone visualisiert, die in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Festival die Shows im Auditorium vom NEUEN MUSEUM begleitet und die Auftritte der Künstler:innen und Liveacts zu einem einmaligen Erlebnis werden lässt.
In seinem Newsletter beschreibt der Protagonist das Video mit den folgenden Worten:
"Today we are under the constant pressure of artificial intelligence, that is trying to persuade us to follow a certain believe system. This is the central topic of my rework of "Xennial Sehnsucht" by Aqaxa filmed live at the Nuremberg Pop Festival:
You will find me in the middle of flickering, vintage TV screens and their abstract color schemes by the local art collective æzone mirroring this permanent attack on our privat life and moral compass. „Letting go“ is something that has become more and more difficult as we live in a world, where the grim prediction by Prince about the internet era has become reality: "There is a war going on. The battlefield is the mind, and the prize is the soul."
The promise of technology was always to make our life easier, optimize work, save time or create new ways to express, save or share information. Nevertheless I have the feeling, that despite all the different forms of expression, that exist today - the need to multiply and match our very own perspective within the world that surrounds us also grows exponentially. It seems just like the more individual we get, the bigger grows our urge for acknowledgement in the outside world. As soon as we fall into the trap of expectation and comparison instead of inspiration and curiosity all creative energy comes to a halt."
