STREICHELT

Anyone who has been following the NNDW scene closely in 2023 will have stumbled across the name STREICHELT and the songs ‘Sicher Nicht’, “Fern” and ‘Alle 13 Tage’. With his singles to date, the Nuremberg-born artist shows that the genre does not always have to be dark, moody and melancholic, but that colours also have their place. This works with a dash of humour/irony, social criticism, paired with melancholy and the moral that somehow everything always turns out fine in the end.

STREICHELT's sources of inspiration are sometimes the musical environment or YouTube tutorials on production techniques by pop stars such as Billie Eilish. Once again, it becomes clear that these YouTube tutorials are still helpful. Lyrically, STREICHELT always bubbles over. The lyrics alternate between cryptic sentence fragments and easily understandable emotional worlds that simultaneously sweep the listener along and yet leave plenty of room for their own interpretations. In some cases, fans also influence these lyrics when STREICHELT creates new songs from their playlist names. The lyrics of the single ‘Eines Tages’ (One Day), released in early 2024, are partly based on this. It will be the beginning of a year with many new songs released on the EintrachtPankow label.
