At just 22, Faroese rapper-producer Marius DC has already built an eventful eight-year career. This year has so far been even more eventful, with concerts abroad, and festival bookings, at the Spot Festival in Denmark, The Great Escape in UK, The G!Festival and Summer Festival in his home country, as well as his newest The MZA EP Vol. 2.
Seven years after his breakout debut, The MZA EP (2019), Vol. 2 finds the MZA back in form with six tracks of forward-thinking, adventurous hip-hop. The original MZA EP introduced a rising star in the Faroes when a 16-year-old Marius DC earned four nominations and a win at the Faroese Music Awards for best new artist.
Vol. 2 picks up that thread with greater confidence and polish: the opener “Rap Saved My Life” is both a love letter to hip-hop and a personal backstory, as he raps with striking intention about growing up in one of the world’s smallest countries and finding an unlikely path in an inherently American art form.
MZA EP Vol. 2, is his fourth EP, and currently Marius DC is working on his first studio album, during to be released in 2027.
